At the time the Gardens were built Babylon was enjoying its second stint as the largest city in the world (612 BC to 300 BC). It may have been the first city to reach the 200,000 population mark.

Knights Templar Fact 29

The 15th Grand Master Pedro (aka Pierre) de Montaigu is believed to have been the brother of Guerin de Montaigu who was the 13th Grand Master of the Hospitaller Knights. Pedro led the Templars 1218 to 1232 while Guerin led the Hospitallers 1207 to 1228. The relationship between the two orders was said to have been close during that time.

Viking Fact 29

Vikings started to raid the north and west coasts of Ireland in 795 AD. By 840 AD they had moved inland along the major river systems where they built fortified bases from which the launched their plundering missions. Their primary targets were the monasteries which ironically factored into the Vikings in Ireland adopting Christianity by the end of the 10th century.

The Civil War cost the Federal Government $6.19 billion or $146 billion in today's dollars. $3.5 million a day was being spent by the North as the war closed to an end. The South suffered $10 billion in property damage.
